Jem's original design as Bill as seen in the book series
Jem (French: Bill) is an American miner who appeared in Tintin in America in The Adventures of Tintin series. He is first seen with his partner, Slim, trying to enforce the safety of the railway by blowing up the boulder with dynamite. Suddenly, they saw heard a train coming and they had to blow up the boulder immediately. They successfully exploded the boulder, but Slim realized that the train is on its way to the dynamite box, and the train exploded. They searched Tintin, Snowy, and the farmer. Finally, Jem and Slim gave the supplies to Tintin to capture Bobby Smiles, and take him to justice.
