Scheherazade
"Thundering typhoons! What a beautiful ship. A multi-millionaire's yacht!"
—Captain Haddock upon seeing the Scheherazade for the first time.

The Scheherazade was the luxury yacht owned by Roberto Rastapopoulos, while he was under the pseudonym Marquis di Gorgonzola, which picks up the shipwrecked Tintin, Snowy, Captain Haddock and Piotr Skut in The Red Sea Sharks. The ship plays an active role in the illegal trading of slaves.

Trivia[]

  • The yacht is named after the Arab princess, Scheherazade, the storyteller of One Thousand and One Nights.
  • The yacht used to model was the Chahsevar, the personal yacht of the Shah of Iran. At the beginning of World War 2, it was converted to a warship and is still in use today in the Iranian Navy.
