Miarka is a Romani girl who first meets Captain Haddock and Tintin while they were walking through the countryside. She is a shy but curious girl who quickly befriends Tintin. She first appears in The Castafiore Emerald.
History[]
Miarka is travelling with her family among the Romani caravans. She is homeschooled, and can often be found exploring the wilderness near her family's campsites.
When Tintin and Haddock first meet Miarka, the community is camping in a nearby landfill. When Irma's gold scissors go missing, they are found by the police in Miarka's possession. Miarka tells them she found them under a tall tree, which leads Tintin to discover the thieving magpie.
Personality[]
Miarka is curious and loves to explore, but she is easily frightened. Tintin first meets her when she is lost in the woods, and Captain Haddock accidentally frightens her away while trying to reassure her. In her panic, Miarka runs into a tree. Tintin and Haddock then help her walk back to the camp, and Miarka begins to trust them.
