Jim is a criminal who works for Miller. He was seen shooting Tintin in the head. The Syldavian security spotted Jim and his accomplice, and were captured by security.

Jim was seen when Tintin found Jim's accomplice at a vent near the Spordj Atomic Research Centre, as the unnamed character is held at gun-point by Tintin, Jim shot Tintin, grazing the skull, which rendered Tintin unconscious, however he his only mentioned in the book.
