Destination Moon is a two-part episode of The Adventures of Tintin, produced by Ellipse-Nelvana, based on the book of the same name by Hergé.
Changes from the Book[]
The episode directly started with Tintin, Snowy and Haddock landing in Syldavia. Again, the cuts are made solely for time, such as Tintin's misadventure with a pack of bears, Haddock's tantrums over the space trip, and a few other incidents like a false fire alarm. In addition, the ending to the episode is taken from the beginning of the book's sequel, Explorers on the Moon, where Tintin, Haddock, Calculus and Wolff awaken after take-off instead of the book's cliffhanger ending with the radio crew calling them to no response (though the discovery of Thomson and Thompson is not used, but instead appears in its correct episode. Due to this ending, the discovery occurs after the assigned crew had entered the control cabin).
Interestingly, another thing omitted (nor is this inferred) is any indication of the timespan of the events that proceed. In the comic, it states that the story spans several months. However, due to the condensation of time and the omission of several minor events, it is not exactly certain how much time has passed.

Production errors[]
- In Part 1, as Tintin and Haddock get off the plane, Miller is also disembarking behind them. But in the next moment, Miller is ahead of them and watching them in the terminal with Baron.
- At one point during the beginning of Part 1, Baron's coat colour changes from green to blue.
- In a close-up of the Professor towards the end of Part 1, Wolff's jacket is grey instead of green.
- In Part 2, when there is only one minute left til blast off, the Captain's overalls are green instead of blue.
- In Part 2, Wolff's moustache is not coloured in properly when Mr. Baxter asks if everything is on schedule for blast off.
