Akureyri is a port town in northern Iceland. In The Shooting Star it is the city in which the Aurora refuels at.
History[]
The Aurora Expedition stops at Akureyri to refuel in The Shooting Star. However, when Captain Haddock asks for fuel from Golden Oil, they refuse. He learns that the company has a monopoly on the sale of oil in the whole country. Haddock meets his former shipmate Captain Chester in the city as well. Chester allows them to pump oil from the Sirius so that they can continue their expedition.
