Ali is an Egyptian sailor who worked aboard the Karaboudjan.
History[]
In The Crab with the Golden Claws, Ali was the one who informed Allan about their wireless operator being tied-up and gagged during Tintin, Captain Haddock, and Snowy's escape from the ship. Ali then got struck by Allan, who by that point became furious about such events.
Other Portrayals[]
Ali has a somewhat larger role in the 2011 motion-capture film The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn. He is first seen with Allan, Tom, and Neil preparing an attack on Tintin within a cargo room, without knowing that he and Snowy already vanished. After the door is busted open, Ali and the others fire their guns since they think Tintin is shooting at them, until it is revealed it was just corks bursting out of champagne bottles. Ali was later seen on patrol with Neil still onboard the ship under the orders to have Tintin killed and have Haddock back alive.
